Meet Michaela Griggs
Therapist, LPC
She/Her/Hers
No matter what my clients come to therapy to work on, most of them feel stuck, disconnected, or unsure how to navigate life. I prioritize creating a therapeutic experience that feels warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental, where you can explore and navigate life’s ups and downs. My approach is person-centered focusing on what feels most important to you. I use interventions and concepts from many different therapies including CBT, DBT, feminist and trauma-informed in order to provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to heal and grow.
While I have extensive experience working with women of all ages who have substance-use issues, I am passionate about supporting individuals from all backgrounds, identities and adult ages who are experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, adjusting, or trauma. Aside from helping clients manage and treat mental health symptoms, I also find joy helping clients discover the answers they need (which I believe are already within them) to find the peace and understanding they are looking for. I believe therapy should feel supportive, collaborative and creative while also challenging and celebratory at times.
Whether you’re experiencing a specific event or challenge, looking to prioritize yourself or your distress has been a surprise, therapy can be a space to slow down, reflect, and gain clarity. I would be honored if you reached out and would love the opportunity to work with you!
